Black and Burgundy

This past Thursday was my birthday, and this year I turned 23. I decided to bring my Jordan year in with style and elegance. I knew I wanted to go out to eat at Ichiban, a hibachi restaurant, with my friends, and since I was the birthday girl, I had to be dressed to kill! Earlier in the day I went to the mall and picked up a few things, including this burgundy shoulder bag, I just so happened to match my shoes, which were on my birthday wishlist. I wanted to wear these two pieces together without making them clash with one another, so I accompanied the purse and shoes with an all black outfit and simple gold jewelry.
Jacket: H&M

Kayaking on Wakulla River Photo Diary

This past weekend I did something that I've never done before in my life! I went kayaking with my best friend on the Wakulla River (watch the vlog here). This experience was exciting, and it was great to enjoy the outdoors rather than sit on social media all day. The river was so peaceful as well as the wildlife. I was a little nervous at first, because I'm not the best swimmer and there were manatees in the river, but all of my speculations were relived once I was on the river. I knew that I wanted to participate in a CORE Outdoors activity before I graduated just to say that I did it, and to not leave my school with regrets. This trip was the perfect activity for me to participate in, because I noticed that it was stress relieving. This was just what I needed despite my hectic and demanding schedule. I'm going to let the photos speak for themselves!

Birthday Wishlist

My birthday is quickly approaching, and I can't wait to be 23 this year! It seems like time is passing by so fast, because I feel like I was in high school yesterday! As I get older, I realize that I want less and less for my birthday, and sometimes I would just prefer to have a money or just spend time with friends. This year is no different, however there are some items that I've had my eye on for some time now, and I wouldn't mind receiving these any one of these things on my special day.

I have currently been obsessed with ankle boots, no matter the style. Since we are in fall/ autumn, I've been noticing all of my favorite bloggers and vloggers rocking their ankle boots, and I'm feeling super inspired. I feel that ankle boots transform any outfit and they look good with everything! These burgundy boots above (from H&M) are a platform style with elasticized side panels and chunky rubber soles. I'm in love with these because the color is so rich and they are definitely a statement piece. The next pair of boots are a sight for sore eyes! Just look at these beauties! They are a leather and metal heeled boot, and the golden metallic piece on the heel is to die for (not really)!! These shoes, however, are extremely expensive, but a girl can dream can't she!?

I've wanted a bomber jacket for some years now, but I can't seem to find one that I am willing to pay for. Like this Topshop bomber jacket here. It's the perfect style and everything I'm looking for, but it costs $105! I still haven't given up hope on finding this jacket at a reasonable price, but I have concluded that I need to be willing to spend a little bit more on this item if I really want it.

This face primer has been all over the beauty blogosphere, and I've heard nothing but great things about it. This primer is for oily skin in that it helps to mattify your skin and keep your makeup in place all day! This product retails for $36 for the full size, which is quite expensive, so I plan on purchasing the trial size for $16.

This Juicy Couture perfume is my absolute favorite! I normally always have a bottle of this around, but I ran out of it and haven't repurchased it, so why not get it for my birthday! I consider this to be my signature scent, because it mixes so well with my body chemistry!

I have been a follower of Beautycrush, now known as Samantha Maria, on YouTube and in the blogging world. She is a breath of fresh air with her bubbly personality, and her style is so inspirational to me. It only seems right that she has her own clothing line after all the hard work she's put in over the years, and being a supporter of hers, I feel that it's only right to purchase a piece from her collection. Her clothing line is called Novem & Knight, and this had is something I've had my eye on for a long time! Birthday gift to myself!

Monthly Outfit Inspirations: O C T O B E R

Right now I'm in between paychecks, so that means I'm browsing the internet, window shopping for the things i can't buy! Rather than moping about these pieces, I have decided to draw inspiration from them. I've never done this on my blog before, but I would like to start this series not only to save my pockets, but also to make use of the clothing I already have by wearing them in different ways. In doing this, I hope to move that much closer to a minimalist lifestyle where I shop less, but make better shopping choices. Some of my favorite shops to browse are Forever 21, Topshop, Zara, Mango, and so many more! Being that I am a college student, my style is more on the comfortable chic side, and these outfits are perfect examples of what I would wear on a typical day. Some of the more dressier numbers are what I would wear to an event or a show on campus. I'm sure that I can put some of these outfits together with the clothing that I already own, and I look forward making the most of my wardrobe.
All of these photos are derived from Asos, Forever 21, and Mango shopping websites.

Removing my Makeup

Removing my makeup is the part of the day I look forward to. I get a sense of great relief being barefaced at the end of the night as I lay in my bed. I also love the way my skin feels after I have washed and moisturized it. Below are the products that I use to effectively remove my makeup and moisturize my skin. I only need and use four products, which is time and cost effective!

My first step is to remove as much makeup as  I can with my Neutrogena makeup remover face wipes. These wipes pack a punch, in that they remove about 90% of my makeup, and all I need is one wipe!

I then go in with my Olay Active Botanicals gel cleanser to remove the makeup that the makeup wipes missed. This product does a great job of breaking up the makeup on my skin. after I have used this, my skin feels squeaky clean! (Check out my blog post on this product.)

After my face has been cleansed, it is begging for moisture, so I follow up with my ELF Soothing Serum. This product is packed with moisture, which is just what my skin needs after the natural oils have been washed away from my skin. (Check out my blog post on this product)

Lastly, I spray my face with the Mario Badescu facial spray. This spray is a refreshing, hydrating mist to use anywhere anytime. It is formulated with fragrant Herbal Extracts and Rosewater for a pleasant, pick me up for dehydrated, tight and uncomfortable skin. This facial spray is safe for all skin types, gentle, and non-irritating.

All of these products work together to create the best makeup removing regimen for me, and my skin can definitely tell the difference!

Menchie's (Valdosta)

This past Thursday, I took a trip to my local mall here in Valdosta, and as I was getting ready to leave, I decided to try out the new frozen yogurt place. Menchie's frozen yogurt has a very intriguing appearance with its bright colors all over the walls of the store. They were definitely marketing towards young children and girls when they had this design in mind!

Menchie's has a wide array of flavors across the walls, which can make it quite difficult for a foodie like me to make a decision on what to indulge in. Luckily they allowed me to taste test a few of the flavors. Some of their flavors include peach, vanilla bean, pineapple cake, strawberry, and so many more! I knew I wanted something seasonal, and with flavors like pumpkin and cinnabon, I couldn't resist.

(Jeans: Forever 21, Shoes: H&M)

I decided to go for the cinnabon flavor, because cinnabon is one of my biggest guilty pleasures! What I love about this frozen yogurt is that they make their flavors as healthy as possible. The flavor I chose was low fat, gluten free, contained soy, and kosher. To my relief, this treat is guilty free!!

Menchie's also has a toppings bar fully equipped with candy, fruit, and hot toppings. I didn't want to go all out and put a bunch of candy all over the frozen yogurt, so I put some strawberries and bananas on top. My total came out to $4.00 even, which I think is a great price for the amount of froyo I received.

The flavor I chose tasted exactly like a cinnabon cinnamon roll! I was amazed at how accurate the taste was, and the fruit on top made it taste even better!

The cutest part of my experience at Menchie's had to be the complementary spoon I was given to eat my  frozen yogurt. Look at how cute this little guy is!! The character on top is Menchie, who you can see in the company's logo. When this spoon is placed in the yogurt, it changes colors; how cool is that?!

As you can see, I devoured this treat, and I will definitely be back for more!
